Construction begins on the overnight
shelter at Birch Knob. A courtesy
report was sent to the USDA Forest Service's Clinch Ranger District of the Jefferson National Forest at Wise, VA., to let them know who was on their mountain and how the Pine Mountain Trail shelter project was progressing. The floor of the shelter, a treated-wood deck, 16' x 12' was completed.
